I cant figure out what the extremly broken bios last ditch attempt with drive = EF is all about. I have a ASUS P5LD2 mobo with a 320gig sata drive. but one of the probs is the mobo has 2 eide slots, 1 ide slots, and 4 sata/raid slots. and i get this error when i have the cd drive connected via eide, but after it throws the error it continues and boots fine. but if i plug the cd drive into the ide slot it doesnt throw the error but instead while trying to boot the kernel says something along the lines of cant mount cd after trying all the hda/hde so on so forth options.
just curious if anyone knows what my problem is. if not, would it hurt to go ahead and install gentoo even after it throws that error? |
