Seems like I'm gonna need a litte help getting my HTPC up and running....
Running gentoo-sources 2.6.17-r4 and trying to get ivtv to emerge - started with the stable ivtv (0.6.3) but that complained about being for 2.6.16-kernels, then tried the ~x86 ivtv (0.7.0), that made things a little better - until it started to check the kernel-config; it insists that CONFIG_VIDEO_TUNER and CONFIG_VIDEO_TVEEPROM needs to be set.
Only problem is, they seem unexistent (to me at least) - they're nowhere in my kernel-config to be found, there's something I need to turn on for them to appear? (V4L is enabled and the other - by ivtv required - options are satisfied.
Anybody able to help, please?

There's no direct toggle to turn those on, but if you select "BT848 Video For Linux" (preferably as a module), you'll get the appropriate pieces pulled in. |

Can't thank You enough
Guess I should learn to read all of the description of the options instead of the module-name only.....
Happily continuing installation of the box now |

Please add the [SOLVED] before your title so other users with the same problem can search for it and see that the solution is in this thread. |
