|
|
Been having some problems since I performed an emerge -DNva world a while back. Seems that both grip and easytag are now toast, and issuing segmentation faults.
I've posted two bugs, at https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142683 and https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142301
I believe that id3lib is breaking these because if I run either programs in the gnu debugger, I get something like this:
Code: | ...
(no debugging symbols found)
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
[New Thread 16384 (LWP 23202)]
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 16384 (LWP 23202)]
0xb7c95590 in ID3_FrameImpl::Parse () from /usr/lib/libid3-3.8.so.3 |
and libid3-3.8.so.3 is from media-libs/libid3tag
I've tried unstable grip, re-emerging id3lib, etc. This is a show stoper for creating any new mp3s for me. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggested fixes?
Thanks!

Wanted to add that the id3info command is also segfaulting...
Will try downgrading id3lib. Interesting that no one else seems to have this problem (google, or gentoo forums)... |

I'll mark this issue as resolved.
Downgrading to id3lib-3.8.3-r3 fixes the problem. Seems like there are problems with easytag, id3info, and grip with the newest version of id3lib, at least on my machine.
Happily ripping away again. Please forgive earlier comments where I referred to libid3tag (I meant id3lib) |
