Hi all,
I think I found something strange with the DMI setting for my dvd and cd roms. I got them as 2ndary IDEs.
First I have noticed X crashing very often (a total freeze with graphics on and mp3 music looped (1 sec loop)). I thought this is an xorg issue (happened a lot while browsing with firefox). But when disabled nvidia drivers and turned off X.org it happened again in framebuffer. This happened when mounting/unmounting cd or dvd. Later on I tried with hard disk -- same thing happened. The problem is about 30-50% reproductible. Now when I disable setting via hdparm -d1 for the cd/dvd drives there is no problem. It looks that this might be a bug.
My question is -- how could I gather logs for this problem. I cannot get anything in logs, the files are empty... I am using 2.6.17. I presume there should be some debuging turned on, but would appreciate an advice
cheers,
