Not fscking. It looks, to me, like you need to fsck the /boot and perhaps / partitions from a livecd and post regarding the results and the situation postfsck. |

What are those strange asterisks where "-" should be ? Maybe they are causing the problems ? _________________ emerge -C signature |

Theres a few things that... could.. have gone wrong.
1. Maybe you didn't cp genkernel~~~blah to /boot...
2. Unfortunatly i've had this same problem.. i just... reinstalled gentoo really.. It was one of my earlier installs.. If you used the Live CD then that could also be the problem. I'm not trying to diss it.. but the live cd is still in development being brand new to 2006. It'd probably help you more to learn and know about your system if you installed it with a minimal cd (x86) and use the gentoo handbook and just go step by step. But of course use Genkernel your first time.. Orvwa. If you can get more info for me you can e-mail me at lilchris173@yahoo.com or just look on my site or profile for more info.. _________________ ~Chris

I fixed my issue by compiling my own kernel until I got one that works. Now I can use the system, but I still get this on bootup. It's liveable. |
