|
|
When I try to some play mpg files with xine, I get "unsupported audio codec: mpg layer 2/3, start playback anyway?" , but mplayer plays them fine. Code: | $ file file.MPG
file.MPG: data |
Which codec is missing? libmad is installed and XviD with mp3 audio plays fine on xine.
I reemerged libmad and xine-lib. Not sure if xine uses libmad , but I was told in #xine channel. _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770 |

Enable the "mad" USE flag for media-libs/xine-lib and reemerge media-libs/xine-lib |

Oh yes, I disabled USE "mad" because I finally got mpg123 working on xmms which did a better quality than mad.
I didn't know that xine needs it. Doesn't mpg123 work for xine? In other words I'm not sure if I should activate it for all or only xine-lib. Code: | # equery hasuse mad
