Hi - finally I bought winex3 because I thought Simcity4 is the game I want to play on my linux box.
But it does not work I do not know how to install/ setup the program.
When I do winex3 /mnt/cdrom/setup.exe nothing happens.
winex3 /mnt/cdrom/autostart.exe brings up an error message saying
"could not copy d:\autorun.exe to e:\autorun.exe".
WC3 works great but what need I to do inorder to run Simcity4?
Thanks for any help

You need to run autorun.exe (but it will need autorungui.dll, and therefore use the -dos-cwd function).
The copy problem is when it tries to copy the file to /tmp. When I run autorun.exe it copies all the files to /tmp, maybe for modifying.
I haven't got the installer to work, it complains about inserting the cd, even if I am running from the same cd. The only solution for me, was to install it in windoze and copy the files (maybe change them to full name length) and run it from linux. The game still f*cks up though after a minute or so, even with or without hardware accel. |
