Hi,
i got one question concerning the security of my gentoo system. Is it "secure" ? I'm not really a security expert, but i have no telnet, ftp, etc. running on my box...so is there a way to break in ?!? |

If you follow the security announcements by updating packages that have security holes in them and you don't have any easy to guess passwords on your box, then yes it's "secure".
"Secure" here meaning that no one is going to easily break into it over the internet.
There are other meanings of the world "secure" like "the CIA itself couldn't crack my box even if they xray'd the hard drive", but that takes more knowledge about security. |
