So, after getting it to run, i actually rather like it.
But i am getting not really nice sound with it. Actually the sound is rather nice, but it produces a lot of scratching.
I know, my speakers aren't to nice either, but with the other players it works better.
Any hints?
EDIT: I just noticed that when i don't start it with the -R flag, so no realtime, it sounds much better!
EDIT_2: No, that's not it! _________________ samuel.

Can you be more specific about your system (kernel, sound system, etc).
I removed the makefile fix as it's now upstream. |

Current setup:
Code: | Linux stradivari 2.6.17-beyond3 #2 Thu Sep 7 19:14:36 CEST 2006 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1600+ GNU/Linux |
Besides that i have an Audigy SoundCard.
To me it seems, that the sound in itself is nicer with aqualung, but with the other players i don't get the scratching.
Thanks for your help! _________________ samuel.

In the case of alsa you can try to increase the number of periods to 4 (see: http://aqualung.sourceforge.net/manual.html#SECTION00033000000000000000).
I recommend you sign up for the aqualung friends mailinglist and ask your question there. Much bigger chance it'll get solved. |

/usr/local/portage/media-sound/aqualung/aqualung-9999.ebuild: line 76: ` || die "econf failed" '

Thanks, looks interesting, but ...
Code: | /usr/portage/overlay/media-sound/aqualung/aqualung-9999.ebuild: line 76: syntax error near unexpected token `||' |
typo somewhere or maybe a cut & paste error from my browser.
Any chance of a link to a file . Browser cutting is not the most reliable.
Thz.
PS
I just noticed a very similar error on another pkg , I think this must be portage or something getting sytax-shitty. _________________ Linux, because I'd rather own a free OS than steal one that's not worth paying for.
Gentoo because I'm a masochist

Aqualung has great features. I just wish it wasn't that butt-ugly. Even with the plain style it doesn't pick up my normal colour scheme. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

Yeah, I've had this problem before.Really pisses me off I thought it was a copy-paste issue too but I tried a number of ways of copy/pasting but none seemed to help.I'd upload it but no attachment support on these forums.I will have a look around and upload to a upload site later. |

you can always post a proposed ebuild as an enhancement bug in gentoo bugzilla. That would be a first step to it getting included in portage one day.
o/w just google for paste bin and you will find lots of possiblities, some more short term than others.
