i am about to get a new box with an intel core 2 e6600 and i was wondering what i need to know to install gentoo, I have install gentoo a few times before, mostly on old machins, mostly am p4 1.4. What c flags do i use. the best i have found is nocona is probaly right, but i am sill fuzzy on the chost. it would seem x86_64 would be the one but if i was reading corectly better results can be got by using amd64. also i wanted what stage 3 to use i have herd the same thing that amd64 is better that x86_64. Finally i was as a wild hair idea was wondering if it is better to use icc over gcc for better optimation. any advice would be apreated |
