Hey everyone,
I've run into an "interesting" problem for the lack of a better term. I've got 2 identical Dell GX240's here. I needed iptables support, so on the first 240, I recompiled the kernel manually, include iptables support, booted it no problem. I went to do the same thing on the 2nd 240, and it won't boot. Says something about not being able to mount the root...even though I've specified in the kernel...so that's a problem unto it's own.
Moving on, I used genkernel to compile a kernel on this problematic box, and it boots great. But i'm having problems with iptables support. When I go to enable the kernel option for iptables state filtering? I looked everywhere, and I couldn't find it, either under the core filtering options or the netfiltering options.
Any suggestions?

Maybe once you got the kernel built using genkernel and properly booted, try rebuilding the kernel using menuconfig and turn on the required modules? Of course, you'll need to first load the genkernel .config file. _________________ "Hello and goodbye. As always." | You can't use here?? | Unanswered |
