|
|
Hi,
I've been working on something called visibility. It aims to be a pager-like thing that shows icons of windows on each desktop.
Trac is set up at http://projects.l3ib.org/visibility (also has a screenshot.)
The subversion repository is at http://svn.l3ib.org/visibility/trunk (no releases yet.)
I think it is fairly feature complete; the sample config files should serve as documentation.
Opinions? Bugs?
I would have made a poll but I am clearly too stupid to figure out how.
(It also includes a script to convert openbox themes to visibility themes if you so desire.) _________________ Play ET? Come by #gentoo.et on freenode!

To over look this is a travesty, this is a most original concept that i have seen for some time.
It is hard to explain in words what it does or how it looks, so i have included another screen shot, it is the thing in the top right corner, it shows what apps are open on each desktop and allows you to switch to said desktop, it also has a 'this desktop only' mode.
That is all, but use it.

I get an error when trying to view the screenshot. _________________ "I saw the code for your computer program yesterday. It looked easy. Its just a bunch of typing. And half of the words were spelt wrong. And dont get me started on your over-use of colons."

The one on Trac or mulberry's? They're both working fine for me.

i dont really see what this does that any taskbar can do? I know xfce can do icons-only, and they all can list all apps from every workspace. The only benefit is that its seperated by workspace - what does that really get you? Also, if you did want that feature, it seems like it would be easier to extend an existing taskbar. Although...I've been without a pager for too long
But, if it works well for you, nice job |

I didn't know that XFCE could do icons only, but separation by desktop is important for me
Also, I'm not sure if the XFCE one does tinting (not as important, but nice.) _________________ Play ET? Come by #gentoo.et on freenode!

That's not nice, productive or even true is it.
Anyway, the program looks nice and if I frequently had things spread across other desktops regularily I'd probably use it. |

I love it!
It's especially great for minimal desktops where a full blown panel just won't do it. |
