Hi,

I'm tying to get my Zen Micro working but with no success.

When I plug it in the following appears in dmesg:
Code:

usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

The device is discovered by lsusb:
Code:

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 041e:411e Creative Technology, Ltd Zen Micro
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

But libmtp doesn't pick it up ( as root or not ).
mtp-detect returns:
Code:

No MTP devices.
No devices.

Any ideas what might be happening?

Thanks

does the zen micro come running mtp or do you need to upgrade the firmware first.

Are you sure libmtp is what you need?

I have a zen micro too, and it works just fine with libnjb (and gnomad, but there are other clients using that lib).

Admittedly my zen is old (one of the first models) and I never updated the firmware to the microsoft specific one, so this might not be of any use.

Actually, I solved the problem by updating the firmware from 1.blah.blah to 2.blah.blah

So, maybe the change of firmware also means a change of API
