|
|
I'm trying to do various things like get my ethernet working and so i've been trying to do a net-setup, but the result for every command is:
Code: | # net-setup eth0
bash: net-setup: command not found |
if i check the kernels i have on my system, i get:
Code: | # ls /etc/kernels/
kernel-config-x86-2.6.17-gentoo-r4 |
so now lets say i try to modprobe my ethernet module:
Code: | # modprobe b44
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.15-gentoo-r5/modules.dep: No such file or directory |
what the deuce? my understanding is that its not even looking at the right kernel. So if thats right, how do i change it so that its looking at the kernel i listed before?
I don't know if it matters or not but having this problem because i'm booting from the livecd because i need to emerge shadow.
thanks in advance |

Then you are using 2.6.15
are you sure that the symlink to /usr/src/linux is correct?
(How to check it? ls -FGg /usr/src/linux and post the results) |
