Hello,

Gentoo Linux Kernel Guide mentions "various kernel patches", that are included in the gentoo-sources kernel version.

So I was wondering: is there a more detailed (and yet understandable to someone who isn't a kernel hacker) information available on how the Gentoo kernel is different from the one available at kernel.org, the performance and/or security benefits of using gentoo-sources, known compatibility issues, things like that?

http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd/genpatches/ will have all the information about the patches added to gentoo-sources.
