I've been editing files for a game with kwrite and although nano reads them fine, kate reads them fine as well as bluefish, the game engine finds hidden characters like thier bieng saved as .rtf, is there anyway to get kwrite to save as plain text |

AFAIK, KWrite can only do plain text. Maybe it is an encoding problem? _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

hmm.. well according to winows and doom3 it has characters that cant be read, checked the settinga nd I'm using iso 8859-1, does anyone know what I should be using for compatability
It just throws up warning with the engine and it skipps over the characters but would be nice to get them out of there |

You probably want to dos2unix command and unix2dos.
I will bet that it is the line feeds, they are done differently in wondows and unix, and that can cause problems. _________________ My Public Key

IIRC, there should be an option in the Settings menu to add Windows-style newlines to a document.
FYI: *nix uses \n, Macs (not sure about OSX) use \r, and Windows uses \r\n. |
