Newsgroups in Evolution

I've been using Evolution as my mail client/newsgroup reader for a few months now. But recently (as in a couple of weeks ago), the newsgroup account has been playing up: old emails have disappeared and only new ones turn up. I've tried upgrading to the latest unstable version, but it didn't do any good. The only thing that seemed to fix it was deleting the contents in ~/.evolution/mail/nntp. Anyone else had problems with this?

And before anyone tells me to use another mail/news-reader client, I'm using evolution since there's a synce plugin for it so that I can sync my wm5 phone with it. I've tried using thunderbird-bin to test the newsgroups, and it seems to read them fine.
