ncp mount point

While i have very limited space on my current harddisk at work, i need to build X remotely on a network share. Since there are only Novell Netware shares avaiable i decited to PORTAGE_TMPDIR=ncpmount point , but that does not seem to work. Can someone help ? Since i'm not at work right now, i cant post the error, but i guess PORTAGE_TMPDIR and DISTFILES cannot be written correctly... some hints ?

i managed to find out that i cannot even execute a script on the ncp mount point, "permission denied" on any executable ...while im sure that all permissions where givin.... cant i simply not execute something on a ncp (novell netware) mount ???
