|
|
Alright, so here is the problem. I had a nicely working twinview set up, then I decided to get larger monitors. Now, I can't run twinview at 1280x1024 on both screens.
I know that the card can handle driving these resolutions, it just seems to be the NVIDIA driver.
I am using the latest version of the NVIDIA drivers, the card is a GeForce4 MX so its not the beastiest card ever, but it can do this.
So, has anybody had any success with forcing the NVIDIA driver into a mode it doesn't seem to want to do? Or am I just stuck buying a new card. _________________ Gentoo, linux for real men, cause linux for human beings is for pussies. |

Try adding:
Option "UseEDID" "false"
To the Device section of xorg.conf and see if it helps. I had to, in order to force 1024x768@75, while older driver versions allowed it without fuss. Progress I suppose.
Edit: Make sure that you have both HorizSync and VertRefresh settings correctly specified in your Monitor section. _________________

So I played around with it a little bit and it didn't work.
The EDID is the identifier for the monitor, in your case the driver didn't think the monitor could support the resolution, in my case it seems to be the card.
It runs one monitor at 1280x1024 just fine, but wont drive two.
Anybody else have any suggestions? I included what I thin is the relivant part of the Xorg log.
