|
|
I have an sdcard device (my mp3 player, the Lexar LDP-200) and I can mount it and read and write files to it in root with "mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/card".
However when I enter "/dev/sda1 /mnt/sdcard vfat noauto, user 0,0" as an fstab entry and type "mount sdcard" I get the following error message:
[mntent]: line 21 in /etc/fstab is bad
mount: can't find /mnt/sdcard in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
I can't figure this one out. How can I get this working?
Thanks in advance. _________________ I am the darkness in your dreams and the bug in your soup.

Also, I just run 'fdisk -l /dev/sda' and discovered that the file system is actually fat16. I changed the aforementioned fdisk entry from the vfat filesystem to the msdos filesystem but I am still getting the same error. _________________ I am the darkness in your dreams and the bug in your soup. |

Wow. Perhaps I jumped the guns on the question... I had the fstab entry in between my hard drive partition entries and the entries for my dvd/cdrom drive so I decided to move it below them all. I just run the command "mount sdcard" with user permissions after saving the file and it worked!
Now I'm left wondering why the order of the entries matters... _________________ I am the darkness in your dreams and the bug in your soup. |

I just copied over the entry back to where I originally had it. Somehow it's working now. I wrote the entry over when I put the sdcard record on the bottom of all the other records but by comparing the previous record to my new record the two are IDENTICAL.
I suppose I better shut up and be thankful it's working though. _________________ I am the darkness in your dreams and the bug in your soup. |
