I really _need_ config for X that will give me a proper aspect ratio. Anyone got any ideas?

As I recall you can enter your own x/y resolution in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Under section screen in the subsection Display you can add or change the "modes" to whatever you like as long as the monitor and card are able to display it. |
