for long time i was using beep media player, and i had small skin for the main window of bmp to fast change tracks or change volume with scroll like here (http://toya.net.pl/~vermaden/gfx/vermaden-desktop-15.07.2006.png), now i use mpd + ncmpc and i little miss these controls on the bottom left.
my question is: is there any app/taskbar that will fit there and has similar posibilities but will change track with mpc or directly to mpd?
thx in advance.
EDIT
i have now something like that: http://toya.net.pl/~vermaden/gfx/vermaden-desktop-24.08.2006.png
achieved with fbpanel, but this sh!t eats a lot of resources:
Code: | vermaden 63741 0.0 1.3 12036 7012 p4 SN 2:17PM 0:00.17 fbpanel |
maybe you know better app to do that?

I wouldn't know any script/program that does it, but there are a few clients available, qmpdclient, pympd, gtk2mp, wmmp, kmp.
Just find your favourite _________________ Have you ever noticed how stable windows is?

well i actually use mpc + ncmpc, but need also this little "widget" for comfort of usage, i do not need a graphical client like gmpc to change songs, also i do not like wm dockapps, they do not look good, but thx for help |

hi,
mabe you could simply use idesk and create some icons on your background for the needed features. Or, code some buttons in gtk...it's pretty simple, much like C. Personally, i use the buttons of my multimedia-keyboard with some xosd-scripts i wrote. |

I use qmpdclient if I really want to look for a song and keyboard shortcuts for the rest, more then enough for me _________________ Have you ever noticed how stable windows is?

some buttons in gtk will propably use comparable size of memory to fbpanel which is writen in gtk, idesk similar, i seems that i will have to stay with fbpanel sollution
xosd - is ugly and i think that i do not really need it

i already has keyboard shortcuts for vol up/doen with alt pgup/pgdown, maybe add winamplike <Z><X><C><V>[/b]<B> keybindikgs in the feature if would need them.
thx for tips keep tryin' ;p
EDIT:
several hours of running made fbpanel use only:
Code: | vermaden 92308 0.0 0.5 12116 2728 v0 SN Mon11AM 0:03.09 fbpanel |
so i think that i wiil stay with that thx for tips anyway. |
