when i start emacs in x mode all characters are shown as squares.
I connect through freenx from windows nxclient. Output from konsole:
Code: | Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-courier-medium-r-*-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-*" to type FontStruct
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-helvetica-medium-r-*--*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1" to type FontStruct |
If instead i connect through vnc i get no warnings and emacs displays characters correctly. Unfortunately is very slow on my connection.
I believe that the problem is something with the fonts available to the windows nxclient, but cannot figure oiut how to make this work. I tried copying /usr/share/fonts/100dpi and /usr/share/fonts/75dpi from gentoo box to C:\Program Files\NX Client for Windows\X11R6\lib\X11\fonts but that didn't help. Also installed extra fonts from nomachine.com.
Maybe something else? |
