I wasn't paying any attention, and typed "eject /media/hdc" in the wrong console. Unfortunately, the box is on the other side of you-know-where, so I can't just push it back in.

What's the opposite of eject? What will pull the coffeetray back in and make udev/hal/dbus/ivman/pmount do it's thing?

Thanks in advance

I looked up the eject manpage.

Try -t as stated there (and pray that your drive DOES suppoert it):

Code:

-t     With  this  option the drive is given a CD-ROM tray close command.
Not all devices support this command.

Something you should be know about the -t option. It may give you an error saying it cannot close the try even if it actually closes the tray.
