XV causes crash

hi,

i have an ATI 7000 running on Xfree 4.3.0 and a asus p3b-f with an p3 550Mhz.

i tried it with dri and without it.
when i use Load "extmod" to get XV working, than mplayer crashes playing videos but without XV it works very good ... but not fullscreen.

i tried the Xfree drivers.....
does anyone have an idea what's the problem?
i the evening i try the ati.2 driver from gatos...

hope you can help...
