Hello all,

I recently got my Pioneer plasma setup using a DVI cable that converts to HDMI (video card VI and TV HDMI). The TV has both HDMI and VGA inputs.

The TV support 1920x1080i and and I am running the resolution from the vcard into it. When I use VGA, the fonts look fine - but when I use HDMI, the fonts are very difficult the read. Also, the Stuff oges off the screen by a little bit. Wondering if there is a zoom can use to bring the edges in som and also how do i clean up the fonts? is there a zoom for the fonts?

Thanks.

I have a Pioneer 436XDE Plasma and would also like to run from my Macmini PPC via DVI-HDMI Cable to the Pioneer. Using MacOS this is a no brainer, plug in and it outputs everything in 1280x720 on the Plasma. However I cannot get Xorg to do the same.

Even though my Pioneer supports 1080i the panel only has 768 vertical lines. the internal scaler does the conversion. The stuff that goes off screen is due to the overscan of the tv and is normal. tv stations also broadcast videotext info with the signal at the edges hence the overscan.

I have the same issue under linux having fonts that are hard to read. I tried an Ubuntu live cd and actually got to the gnome desktop. Everything set off to the right side and a good portion of the screen cannot be seen.

The Mac mini uses an ATI Radeon 9200

personally I'd like it to run at 1280x720 just like on the mac. Does anyone have a pointer for me or maybe a running xorg config for that resolution?
Timing recommendation #6.... 1280x720 at 50Hz
Modeline................ "1280x720" 74,250 1280 1720 1760 1980 720 741 746 750 +hsync +vsync

When I run xorgconfig and enter the hsync and vsync values for the pioneer I just end up with a pretty generic 1280x1024 configuration.

I read in a German forum that you can use modeline in xorg.conf to get the card to display special resolutions. However I could not get it to run.

This is what is reported to the card by the Pioneer Plasma;
