I have a external COMBO with HFS+ file system, which can be mounted under Ubuntu X86 version without any trouble. But It can not be mounted uder Gentoo X86_64 version, the kernel is compiled with HFS+ FS support.
I am wondering anyone is using HFS+ file system under Gentoo with X86_64 version? Is it OK now or not? If Yes, could you tell what the problem is?
Thanks for any suggestions. |

I have used hfs+ for some time now. I use it to transfer some giant movie files so I can master the DVD in linux. Anyhow you shouldn't be getting problems, and yet you are here. So let's see what commands you are using?
Here's what I typically do:
Code: |
mount -t hfsplus /dev/sda8
|
There are usually a bunch of weird partitions at the first of the disk that the Mac puts on there, that's normal. Also of note you won't see any partitions unless you compile in the mac partition types in the kernel. I forget exactly where that option is, but I know it's somewhere in the general area where you turned on the hfs+ stuff. |
