My system is currently running in 32bit mode. I am not ready for 64bit mode at the moment. I was setting up my system agen and I was trying to use distcc as I have always used it, without a problem. However for some reason, now when I use it I sometime get a package compile error. But it did appear when I took distcc out. Is it not possible for me to use distcc on amd64 in 32bit mode with a computer that is amd Sempron 2200+ ? |

Sure it is. But, if everything else is running in 32-bit mode, then I would have thought distcc called gcc to produce 32-bit code automatically. Is your kernel and gcc compiled for 64-bit?
It case they are, you can change /etc/init.d/distcc to make sure it produces 32-bit code.
Here are two links that show you altenative methods.

I use the second one myself to let my dual opteron help the laptop compiling stuff. _________________ /Ibn |
