Need help to get my Realtek 8169 based Network card to work under Gentoo 1.4 RC4.
I borrowed a network card to get RC4 installed I then switched back to my
card and downloaded drivers from cnet.com.tw web page and after compiling
the driver I copyed the r8169.o file to /lib/modules/kernel/drivers/net
and run insmod r8169 and I get a erreror message about unresolved symbol mmx_memcpy if I remeber corectly.
I compiled the kernel with AthlonMP as CPU.
Any suggestions ?
I know this driver is included in 2.4.21 kernel and I was wondering if there are any patch for 2.4.20 kernel I can use. |

Hey there!
I got this same problem installing gentoo on some new machines that have this rtl 8169 ethernet NIC.
Did any one (or you) got a solution for this?
PS: I really want to use the gentoo sources. _________________ Saru mo ki kara ochiru - Japanese proverb.
