newlib question

i recently discovered newlib package, and i got curious. same way i got curious when i got my hands on a uclibc gentoo stages :]

did anybody try to build a system on newlib? is it stable, or perhaps there is some software that won't build? (like glib2 on uclibc systems).

is there a way to easily build a gentoo stage file based on newlib? (if applicable)

i'm posting this in unsupported because, well, newlib being masked and all seems a bit unsupported in gentoo :]
