|
|
Hi,
I want to change my partitions a bit. Therefore, I want to backup some of my files which I want to copy back after changing the partitions and then I want to do a emerge --emptytree world and everything should be as now. Any idea what I have to backup or what is the best way to do it? I suppose /etc would be a good idea, /boot as well. Where is the portage stuff?
My partitons at the end (hopefully ):
swap
/
/boot
/var
/tmp
/usr/portage
/home
any recommondation for the file systems? So far I have them all reiserfs except /boot, which is ext2. How to tweak them to get better performance? I tried to search but there where too many threads about file systems which where not what I wanted.

Thank you, now I know what is important. The installation sub-forum is probably the place to ask for the file systems... _________________ Gentoo on Intel Core Duo 2 E6750, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, NVIDIA 8800GTS (amd64) |
