|
|
I've installed gnome 2.14.2 with the proper useflags, and I boot it from GDM, and the little splash theme comes up (the progress icons don't ever show up...) and then it gives me an error message basically saying the settings manager (daemon maybe?) failed to load.
Is there a quick fix for this? _________________ Sysadmin by trade, geek by choice

i've seen this when using the evdev mouse driver.
supposedly it was fixed in gnome 2.12 control-center, but i'm still seeing it in 2.14.2. Switched to mouse driver and the problem went away. |

Switched from
Driver "evdev"
to
Driver "mouse"
and changed the "Device" option to point to /dev/input/mice instead of the event driver node I was using.
FYI,
