Hi This is my first post here. Anyway I am going to install Gentoo in probably a week or so. I heard people talking about "gaming" kernels and such so I was wondering where one would obtain this? Thanks

While you are following the install guide, it tells you somewhere to pick a kernel source..

In the manual it suggests you install the gentoo-sources by using this command:

emerge sys-kernel/gentoo-sources

If you would like to use the gaming-kernel instead, you would replace that command with:

Code:

emerge sys-kernel/gaming-sources

You don't need to download anything manually, welcome to the world of portage
