Hi,
I'm having the following problem: I have the Samba service in the default run-level, which is pretty useful most of the time. The exception is when I'm not connected to the network. When I boot my computer without being connected to the network, Samba will just stop and quietly wait unitl the network connection is resumed (which makes sense, if it depends of eth0; configuration is done using DHCP). However, this not I wanted it to behave...
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Well, I wanted the Samba service to fail if no valid network configuration could be found... or as a last resort I wanted to be able to set a timeout after which the service would fail (similar to the timeouts that can be set in a client that uses DHCP to obtain a network address) _________________ "Talk is cheap.
