Any idea, what happens to nautilus-2.16.3: gconf /apps/nautilus/desktop is missing - https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165583
G-V-M problems are solved, with the new updates. _________________ Just you and me strogg! |

I'll start the ball rolling, are you happy with the inclusion of mono and the wave of new software breathing life into gnome or are you worried about speed bumps?
Gnome 2.16 Roadmap:
September 4th - GNOME 2.16.0 Tarballs Due
Hard Code Freeze ends, but other freezes remain in effect for the stable branch.
September 6th - GNOME 2.16.0 Final Release!

Gnome is really not cutting it for me anymore.
The new Nautilius is rubbish - how do you easily move files from one dir to another without playing Windows98 drag, resize, drag and drop games? There's no Send To on the right click and you cant define one easily. Metacity still uses revolting animations. Most of Gnome is totally superfluous to my needs and I would rather it wasnt included in the 'base' packages.
Its OK but I actually found 2.5 faster, smoother and easier to use.
Its all looking at bit OS9 to me. |

|
|
I went to Ubuntu for a month or so and came back (needed a break from Gentoo, but realized the grass wasn't greener). One thing I discovered was I'm kinda liking Gnome (was using openbox only before). So what's a good digital camera app, since one isn't installed with Gnome alone? I liked the one installed on Ubuntu which automagically configured everything. Thanks! |

Gthumb is the app. Nice integration. |

If your camera shows-up as a USB mass storage, you really don't need a 'special' camera app, although gthumb is really nice for printing multiple pictures on one page. |
