I'm a new user on the linux and i'm not professional enough, have a problem, i'm trying to make a link on my Desktop for a folder located on a fat32 mounted window drive, it bring me an error: error while linking operation not permittied..
Any suggestions |

You can't make a symbolic link on a FAT32 partition, or most other non-UNIX filesystems. A symlink is just a special kind of file, and the filesystem specification needs to provide for them if they are to be used. FAT32 does not.
If you're using the FAT32 as a shared partition, and want to share a home folder or a desktop or something, I've worked out a very polished method of doing this with and ext3/2 partition that can be mounted quite nicely in Windows and Linux and supports symlinks when in Linux.
