Can you recommend me any webcam which works with windows under vmware. I want to use the yahoo messengers webcam feature. I tried using 'Creative WebCam Vista' but Vmware complains about the device using asynchronous mode, hence it doesnt work.
Thanks |

want to re-visit this thread since VMWare 5.5 release notes say that webcam support should work.
http://www.vmware.com/support/ws5/doc/releasenotes_ws5.html
my webcam is logitech quickcam 4000. i can install the drivers in my winxp vmware session, it autodetects the hardware, but any cam software i try to use just hangs. i made sure to rmmod pwc before i plug in the cam.
any takers? |

Had similar problems and gave up. I think it's related to VMware only utilizing USB1 and AFAIK most software depends on USB2.
With new VM6 USB2 is available but haven't tested yet if webcam software is working. _________________ Magic works ... even if you don't believe in |
