XFree86 3.3.6

Hi,

I have a realy ancient machine with a Cirrus Logic 5429 video controller. According to the XFree86 web site, this chip is supported in X 3.3.6, but not 4.x. I have got X 4.2.1 installed OK, but when I run it it just uses the VGA driver. This old machine needs all the help it can get, so if I could get the proper accelerated driver going it would be nice.

I can't find any packages for for XFree86 version 3.x. Is there any way to install this older version?

Your best bet would probably be to grab some old binary packages directly from XFree86. Dependencies might get pretty screwed up, but I can't think of a better way to do it off hand.
