I tested this in two games.
In Tremulous I sometimes get turned 90 degrees randomly, but it happens seldom enough to still be able to play. In Nexuiz on the other hand it's impossible to play because my view jumps every few degrees of turning around. (in-game mouse sensitivity is irrelevant here, happens both on high and low values, skip angle varies though).
I could play both games without such troubles on my former computer.
Here's what's different between those computers, new vs old:
GCC 4.1 vs GCC 3.4
Xorg 7.0 vs Xorg 7.1
nvidia-glx 8762 vs Mesa CVS r300
Same mouse, using the Xorg mouse driver, not evdev.
I've also experienced some seldom problems with the keyboard (the same keyboard too, kbd driver), sometimes it fails to repeat keypresses, sometimes goes wacko and rapidly sends random keys.
Are these troubles inherent to Xorg 7.0 or somehow related to nvidia's drivers?

This appears to be a problem with the portage ebuild for Nexuiz. if you download the source from their site and install it, it doesn't seem to have this problem.

See this post in their forums about:

Since you're using the nvidia driver (which does not use dga), and dga concerns the mouse and keyboard, ensure there is nothing dga-related in xorg.conf:
Code:
grep -i dga /etc/X11/xorg.conf
