what do i need to download?

installing on an intel system, what iso's do i need besides the "base" one.
i want to run a desktop system.

i'm familiar with other distro's but this is different and before i start my install, i want to make sure i have all the disks.

Assuming you have a network connection:
You can use either the minimal x86 cd and install via the handbook or use the livecd.
If you don't have a network connection, the livecd is your only choice.
