|
|
Hi,
I have a printer on parallel port, but CUPS won't list the parallel port in its available devices.
Also, when I set up the URI 'parallel:/dev/lp0' in say, KDE printer manager, it fails
(I would not know what to do from console, though)
Code: |
fanless eb # dmesg | grep -i print
parport0: Printer, EPSON Stylus C62
|
Code: |
fanless eb # ls -l /dev/lp*
crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 0 sep 5 08:32 /dev/lp0
|
Any idea ? |

Have you had the printer switched on when trying to get CUPS to recognize it? I've always found (though with USB) that it will not list a port unless it can see a printer on it.
You may need to restart cupsd after switching on the printer to get CUPS to take another look at the port. _________________ The avatar is jorma, a "duck" from "Elephants Dream": the film and all the production materials have been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, see orange.blender.org for details. |
