I have xgl, compiz-quinnstorm, cgwd all installed. Xgl will start then i try to run compiz-start and get gnome with no borders. I checked the nohup.out file and get this error
cgwd: Connection Error (No reply within specified time)
any ideas? |

I'm not quite sure but you probably should start cgwd by dbus-launch cgwd |

well, I'm having the same problem, probably started having it at the same time because of the same version. The problem exists with plain gnome-window-decorator as well, so it seems the problem is probably with compiz-quinnstorm as opposed to cgwd. I may try downgrading, though using my 'for when xgl won't work' backup isn't too bad |

1) Remove compiz!
2) Compile compiz-quinnstorm with USE="svg -gnome".
3) Compile CGWD.
Make script with:
Code: | #!/bin/bash
compiz --replace dbus csm &
dbus-launch cgwd --replace & |
Launch it. _________________ Asio Software Technologies

LOL
I said try these script.... have you tried it?
Gconf will be no longer supported. Use CSM instead!
1) Do you have dbus installed and started? "rc-update add dbus default" _________________ Asio Software Technologies

i am thinking the kdm server commd could be the problem.
this is mine
ServerCmd=/usr/bin/Xgl -br -ac -accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:pbuffer
when i start-compiz konsole just sit at the right bottom of my screen and doesn't move even if i try with mouse. if i swith to metacity the it moves but all the plugins don't work. i set them with csm. _________________ this is a strange strange world. |
