I have a serious problem with my Gentoo installation.
Was very stable using GCC 3.4.6 and then made thet switch to 4.1.1
I'm in the process of rebuilding my system using it, however many things crash, gdm, gnome, firefox (most X apps).
I've got TWM window manager going, but I can't really open anything from there, just segfaults.
I've done an strace and it seems to segfault after it does somethin with my fonts, anyone have a idea here?
My cflags (from memory are) are -02 -march=pentium4 - funrolloops -pipe -ftree-vectorize |

There was an hour or so during my rebuild that I couldn't open anything, too. Try riding it out; once you're not mixing libraries between versions of gcc it will probably get better. |

I went all the way with the rebuild no luck.
I dropped the -ftree-vectorize and rebuilt again (I just put that in, for no substance to back it up).
Intertestingly I've done around 100 packages and I noticed that just after some font related packages were recompiled everything works again, I'm posting from within gnome |
