When upgrading to blackdown 1.4.1, java stopped working in phoenix. The plugin isn't even listed in about:plugins.
When starting phoenix, i get this error:
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.1/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so [/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.1/jre/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: _ZN16nsServiceManager23GetGlobalServiceManagerEPP17nsIServiceManager]
I read in another thread that this was because the plugin was compiled using the wrong version of gcc, but the blackdown ebuild did detect my version of gcc correctly and installed the gcc-3.2-compiled version of blackdown, so that's not the problem.
By the way, java does work in konqueror, but that's probably because it uses the java executable directly (or something like that)..
I'm using the normal phoenix (phoenix-bin-0.5). |

Yup, phoenix-bin will not work with blackdown-1.4.1. If you need both, then you'll need to compile phoenix from cvs. I don't claim to know the dirty low-down reasons for it, but the precompiled binary is not compatible with blackdown-1.4.1.
