Ok its been a while.. and something wierd must be going on here.
Frist it was amsn then msn from centericq, then tcmsn and now also ccmsn
Amsn started to have some error in Tk libs . So i checked and after a while i saw that its an old bug in with TK.
what happens is that after a while it crashes. sometimes even to check the menus.
Anyway ... killall wish is the only way to stop it.
Then on centericq.... i am able to login but no matter what i write to others it never gets there. in other words; they dont even see me.
Tcmsn was working cool... and now .. soon as i input any text after login, it crashes.
ccmsn never worked .. its tries to login but fails the login ...everytime i click to login.
So im guessing that something that all these applications have in common is causing the issue.
I installed all these applications from the latest ebuilds.
OS is 64 bit
any ideas? _________________ Do you hear the sound of inevitability?

I don't see any similarities other than that they all use the MSN protocoll Try kopete or gaim. |

Perhaps these are all suffering from the same problem gaim is? It seems that something was changed on the MSN servers, according to the gaim bug reports. (gaim bug) Whenever I try to connect to MSN through gaim on my Windows box at work, it crashes; I've not run into it yet on my gentoo box, however (gaim 1.5.0 on both windows and gentoo). |

That would make sense, maybe MSN modified their protocoll and it's causing your clients to crash. I used to use amsn and one day it decided to crash when I logged in, so I switched to kopete, and it works great. |

Recently after updating my gcc to 4.1 i decided to emerge -e system and -e world and obviously recompiling these *msn clients which solved the problem that i was having. _________________ Do you hear the sound of inevitability?
