Schon mal probiert Mono zu deinstallieren und dann neu zu installieren? Das muss ich regelmäßig machen, weil das direkte updaten von mono nie hinhaut.

Bevor du groß deinstallierst lohnt sich speziell bei so umfangreichen Programmen (mono kompiliert ja ewig...) ein bin zu schnüren:

Dann hast du die alte Version gleich wieder drauf (mittels emerge --usepkg mono), falls das Update doch wieder fehlschlägt.
