Hey guys!
I can't get the PPP setup that comes with LiveCD Installer 2006.1 working. If I put a user name and password inside /etc/conf.d/net.ppp0 and say
Code: | /etc/init.d/net.ppp0 start |
It pukes 'ATZ' to stdout and then dies. If I don't put any credentials in, it dials the ISP, hangs up, and vixie-cron says it can't resolve an IP. If I manually put an IP address in for both the server (peer) and my system, it still won't go.
The modem's actually a Motorola Razr V3C carried by Alltel. It's at /dev/ttyACM0. I have this working with Windows.
Any help? _________________ Git has obsoleted SVN.

So in WinXP, I discovered that I can connect to Alltel's MobleLink without authentication. When I try this in Linux, I actually see my Razr dial numbers and "Packet Data" shows up on the display, then it disconnects. Vixie-cron's telling me that it can't figure out what the local IP address is supposed to be. So, I give it the peer's IP address and a valid local address (obtained from a WinXP session), and it connects and even tells me what the two DNS servers are (because I told it to setup DNS in /etc/conf.d/net.ppp0). So I'm clearly talking to Alltel's network, I just can't resolve names, or send data anywhere. _________________ Git has obsoleted SVN.
