Gents,
im writting this post cause i have a little problem to update my kde.. when i try to emerge kdemultimedia it fails showing the following error

I tried emerging arts, it didn't work.

I did "emerge --oneshot arts". I removed the "-arts" from the USE in /etc/make.conf

Here is the command I issued to try and compile kde/kmultimedia:
emerge --deep --newuse -u kde

Here is the error message:

Different issue, however this one is a blocker - C++ ABI linking issue. See here for some possible solutions: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-485318.html

I ran into the same issue harlanb had after the upgrade to gcc 4.1.1. I solved it by re-emerging taglib. An emerge -e world should have also worked.

emerge -e world did not fix it, curiously enough.

but I am FINALLY past my problem child.
