I'm probably putting a kick me sign on my own back asking this here, but you know how it is.
The number of clients requesting FP is getting high enough I can't tell them to get a clue any more, I'm relenting and attempting to accomodate. However, it appears there is no packages supporting FP on Apache any more and even harder still finding one I trust to not b0rk Apache. Is there a way to get it working that is reasonably safe? It must be doable to some degree as Plesk/Cpanel/Confixx still support it, but I don't want to use those tools
I thought I had found a howto on Gentoo Wiki once but it seems to have disappeeared.
Any ideas? I wasn't sure if this belongs here or in unsupported software.... |

Don't modern Frontpage clients support DAV? I would never run ms fp extensions on a server I cared about. Apache2 DAV should be ok though. |

I'm not entirely sure -- it seems as though DAV might have taken over. Does anyone know the story here? |

I found this after I posted before:
Quote: | Where can I get the latest Unix/Linux FrontPage Server Extensions?
The FPSE kits are no longer available for download.
...
Does Microsoft/RTR have a Unix/Linux alternative to FPSE?
No, there is no Unix/Linux FPSE alternative. | http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/
Looks like FPSE are history. Good riddance!
DAV is the way to go now. |
