I am trying to do an amd64 installation with the new 2006.1 livecd. Everything works fine until I execute the locale-gen bash script.
This is the 3rd time I am reinstalling and I'm losing hope!
On the first try I uncommented (on the the /etc/locale.gen file) the two en_US locales and added the two el_GR (greek) locales
On the second and third try I just uncommentd the two en_US locales (incase there was a problem with the greek ones) but the same thing happened.
The box hangs when trying to generate the second en_US locale, the UTF that is. When I say hangs, it is completely unresponsive. Mouse, keyboard, Alt-tab, Ctrl-Alt-FX etc don't do anything. Also when pinging or trying an ssh connection from another box the host is unreachable. Only a hard reset works!
Is this a bug? Can someone confirm it?
If it is can I just skip the locale-gen part and try it after I have my system running?
Thanks for any help! _________________ Are you talking to me? |
